How update from 1.5.2 to 1.6.2?

Greets to all!

I've not been using my XAMPP for a while and am now back to it. I find I've fallen way behind in my version, now at 1.5.2. Do I have to do a complete new install or can I do incremental updates to get to 1.6.2? If so - where are they kept?

Incremental updates are certainly an option if you want to keep everything you have added yourself.
