SERVER ERROR, error 500...please please urgent help!!!

SO i installed XAMPP all worked fine....i even install VBULLETIN and am runnin it locally with no problems. however i place a script to try it out and i get this

The server encountered an internal error and was unable to complete your request. Either the server is overloaded or there was an error in a CGI script.

I placed the script in

C:\xampp\htdocs\

and the path to the install.php in it is

C:\xampp\htdocs\upload\install.php

whenever i go to install.php or even just the upload folder, i get that error

any help pelase ?

I placed the script in

"the script" is exact one file, or did you mean a complete program (package) with more then one file?

It's an uploadin script i got. I have it live on one of my websites url is

http://linkbucket.net/upload

that';s the exact script i wana run, it has 4 folders in it and a bunch of php files, comes with a php automatic installer...

install.php is not opening nor anything in that folder or the folder itself, however vbulletin is openin good

Delete/rename the ".htaccess" file.

Everything worked.

1 more question though. how do i go about setting my scripts to be able to send emails...i know my smtp and pop3 details but where do i input them

And since you didn't reply. I have 2 LAST questions lol, i know you're sick of me but last 2.

how do i edit the max upload size? when i go to phpinfo max is 16mb, wht do i write in the php.ini file to edit that? wht is the exact command and where do i place it?

and 2nd, how do to CHMOD ? a script requires my chmoding coupla files.

Your own scripts? How did you send the mails in your scripta (which classes/functions did you use)?

Not possible/necessary on Windows.

not my own, im talking about the mail function in VBulletin for example , email not workin...

Well, for PHP itself (function mail()), you need a local mail server (e.g. Mercury) or you must setup sendmail. Just search the forum for this.

Some software/scripts can also send mail with own classes and can use your normal mail account (from your ISP). If VBulletin can do this ... I don't know. Maybe you can read this in the VBulletin manual.
