Connecting to MariaDB server on another machine

Postby lonesoac0 » 16. December 2017 20:29

Hello all,

I am trying to connect from one machine(client) to another (server). I can connect fine while on the local server. But if I try to connect from a different machine, then I get:
Error 2003 (HY000): Can't connect to MySQL server on IP_ADDRESS' (111 "Connection Refused")
I have read several articles where if I change the bind-address = 0.0.0.0 in the /etc/mysql/mariadb.conf.d/50-server.cnf file then that should do it. But it does not. What am I missing?

Thank you.

Probably a firewall.
