MySQL 404 Not found after i click the "admin"-button

Postby TheRapie » 22. July 2016 08:45

So, i am a total scrub and never worked with apache or mysql before.
Apache is up and running in the XAMPP control panel, MySQL is also started and green.
When i click on "admin" the legendary 404 not found error pops up.

also, how can i connect to my db when using a php file?

Edit: i just found the issue. I changed my standard port to 81.
How can i tell my xampp control panel that it needs to open phpmyadmin on port 81?

Sure, you can set the new Apache port in the Control panel config

well, m either to sutpid to set it up correctly. or its not what i need.

I want to open up "localhost:81/phpmyadmin" instead of "localhost/phpmyadmin" when i click the admin button on the xampp control panel

As long as you do not tell us, what you are doing...

And thats exactly what happens, when you do it correctly. Simply (and its really more than simple) edit xampp-control.ini, look for the section "ServicePorts" and change "Apache=80" to "Apache=81". Save the file, restart the Xampp Control dialog, start Apache and MySQL und finally click "Admin" for MySQL.
