Using MYSQL with XAMPP and c++

Hi

I would like to know if it is possible to access MySQL using xampp and c++ in a windows environment. (I am currently accessing the database using flash and PHP, but also need c++ access)

I am using visual c++, and would like to know what I can use to access the database if it is possible.

I looked into myODBC but my MySQL databases are not displayed there.
