MySQL won't answer.

Postby rafaelinux » 18. November 2007 00:07

Please answer in english/spanish, I don't understand anything else U.u...
Thanks.

XAMPP Control Panel (using version 1.6.3a or 1.6.4) won't start MySql. Tried starting mysqld.exe manually, but it just shows for a sec (flashes) a DOS window and disappears. Using xampp-portcheck reveals there's nothing using port 3306.
Now, I ran start-MySql.bat (or something like that), and it, apparently, starts.
Code: Select all
Diese Eingabeforderung nicht waehrend des Running beenden
Please dont close Window while MySQL is running
MySQL is trying to start
Please wait  ...
MySQL is starting with mysql\bin\my.cnf (console)
071117 20:59:01 [Note] mysql\bin\mysqld: ready for connections.
Version: '5.0.45-community-nt'  socket: ''  port: 3306  MySQL Community Edition
(GPL)

Why is "socket" empty?..
Well, running portcheck tells me mysqld.exe is using port 3306!, cool!..
BUT, it still doesn't work, PHPmyAdmin says "Cannot load mysql extension. Please check your PHP configuration. - Documentation"
Tried uninstalling and reinstalling, deleting everything.. but the problem is still there. Apache works fine.
PHP doesn't seem to start (biorythm doesn't work, flash art, you name)..
Standard installation.

Thanks in advance

BTW running php.exe or php-cgi.exe returns this:
