PHP binaries

If the post here: https://community.apachefriends.org/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=76483&p=259341&hilit=binaries+php#p259339 Altrea mentioned that the XAMPP team does not compile PHP, but uses PHP.net binaries. I guess this is right for the Windows version of XAMPP, but how about other platfroms? I cannot find any binaries for OSX/Unix on PHP.net. There are only source code packages available. I have googled for MD5 and SHA hashes of the php binary I have and no results were found.

Could you please point me to the binaries you are using for OSX and Linux versions of XAMPP? If you compile it for those platforms, could you please provide compilation flags and parameters?
