Please help with php does not work with EXAMPP

Hi,
I has a real frustrated time with instaling EXAMPP to run the MYSQL and apache but finally get succsseded change the port to 8080 and get it done.
but the problem is when I define a new site with dreamweaver then it gives me 404 error and also when creating a new php file from that,it does create the html file.
I do not know what I am doing wrong.
below are the config for local host test server that i done in dreamweaver:
local root folder : C:\xampp\htdocs\sitea\
testing server folder: C:\xampp\htdocs\sitea\

appreciated can some one help me on this issue.
