Old httpd 2.2.25 "non_ssl" need SSL but OS can´t load ssl.so

Postby DerMega » 16. November 2021 16:22

I have to take care of an old Webserver. It runs Apache Win32 2.2.25 "NON_SSL-Version" on a Win-Server 2008R2.
Now that theres no mod_ssl.so I copied one of an old xampp ZIP-File into the modules folder. Uncommented the two lines:

LoadModule ssl_module modules/mod_ssl.so
Include conf/extra/httpd-default.conf

Unfortunately "httpd.exe -t" says the following:

httpd.exe: Syntax error on line 122 of C:/Server/Apache/conf/httpd.conf: Cannot load C:/Server/Apache/modules/mod_ssl.so into server: The operating system cannot run %1.
Can anybody tell me what this means? I found this but it didn`t help me either: Cannot load modules/mod_ssl.so into server

I installed OpenSSL in different versions, Copied the content of bin to Apache/bin, restarted Apache and it didn`t change anything.
I´m a bit lost here because it´s my first time to set up SSL on an Apache. :-/

Is this a problem because the Apache was installed in non_ssl mode? How could I fix this?
A clean reinstall unfortunately is not possible due to other dependencies :(

Any help iss apprechiated.

You cannot copy binary modules from different Apache installations into another different Apache installation. We dont know much about your Apache and your mod_ssl.so, but obviously they do not "match". You have to install everything right out from a full working package - like Xampp for example.

We do not support any different distributions than Xampp. Especially we CANNOT support super old Windows Distributions. Sorry.
