Cannot run Apache when moving local website to Google Drive

Postby Oceane » 01. March 2019 16:21

Hi, I am a newbie in Apache. Currently is trying to move my local website to Google Drive following this step-by-step tutorial:
https://codeinphp.github.io/post/my-local-development-workflow-with-wamp-xampp-git-and-google-drive/

The problem is, the Apache cannot run. There are no new error/access logs. And I did follow all instructions in this tutorial but still failed.

What is the possible problem? Thank you.

Below are error messages in the XAMPP control panel.

11:12:30 PM [Apache] Error: Apache shutdown unexpectedly.
11:12:30 PM [Apache] This may be due to a blocked port, missing dependencies,
11:12:30 PM [Apache] improper privileges, a crash, or a shutdown by another method.

Hi,

I would not follow this tutorial at all. Especially step 2 is very problematic from security perspective.
Apache and any other running processes are not very good in working with cloud solutions like Google Drive or Dropbox.

If you really want to use Cloud services i would separate the cloud folder from the Document_root and would use a manual sync for the files and maybe database dumps.

best wishes,
