Help with ProxyPass, VirtualHost or is it Redirect

Postby harro1968 » 03. October 2018 02:34

Hi all,

Having some difficulties getting the syntax correct with a proxy situation. I have connectivity into my home to a Apache webserver that has the appropriate proxy modules loaded but I can't seem to get it to do what I want it to do.

Host "" is forwarded to my home router, and port 80 is routed to This server is running Apache 2.5, and in the httpd.conf file I have an entry like below;

ProxyRequests Off

<Proxy *>
Order deny,allow
Allow from all

ProxyPreserveHost On
ProxyPass /
ProxyPassReverse /

My internal host, is an Apache server on, and as you can see I'm trying to get to by typing in my browser.

The above does not work, all I seem to get is the default "Welcome to Apache" page that is served from

Any ideas? Is this something that should be done with ProxyPass??

When i enter into the browser, i get a page a la "A Salt Weapon" with a foto from a boat etc., not "Welcome to Apache".

Maybe you have a wrong entry in your hosts file for or your Router does not support NAT-Loopback for internal LAN.
