question about apache.

Postby confusedbutlucid » 14. June 2015 04:45

i am working on an assignment for class and i have ran into a brick wall as i have not used apache that much. so any help is great.

We have one web page under our base url.com directory called generic.php . What we want is to be able to call 50 different URLs with the format of

www.url.com/statename/generic.php, and the title and a link are different on each of the 50 pages.

For example, if someone came to www.url.com/kansas/generic.php the title would read ‘Register Your

Business in Kansas’, and the link would go to kansas_filings.php.

So the question is, how can we implement this functionality without creating 50 different generic.php files?

Are you required to have 50 filings pages? Is the state mandatory in front of the generic php file? The reason I ask is because you could do something like have them visit www.url.com/generic.php?state=statename or use state numbers. You could also have one filings page with the state at the end of the URL like before.
