Apache Newbie

Postby KatoneVi » 11. October 2014 23:41

Hello everyone,

I'm kind of new to this whole apache thing. I'm sure someone knows what I am going through with the current issue that I am facing.

Currently, I am upgrading the apache for my server from 2.2 to 2.4. Everything seems to be fine and dandy... but when I attempt to log onto the webpage, the page display the following example below. I have no clue why, so any assistance would be appreciated! Thanks!

Did you backup your html ot htdocs folder? Obviously you overwrote the existing website with the Apache upgrade.

P.S.: Did you read that page? Here is a full explanation (you find it on the right side):

If you are the website administrator:

You may now add content to the directory /var/www/html/. Note that until you do so, people visiting your website will see this page, and not your content. To prevent this page from ever being used, follow the instructions in the file /etc/httpd/conf.d/welcome.conf.

You are free to use the image below on web sites powered by the Apache HTTP Server:

Of course I backed it up. However... in my former Apache Web page, that directory was also empty. All my contents are in another directory. Perhaps I must re route? If so... which file do I modify to do this? I Google it but having problems finding the answer. My guess was httpd.conf
