Environment Varibale modify to lower case

Postby Stefan.Prokopf » 16. March 2012 11:55

Is it possible to store/modify the environment variable used for the authenticated user name in lower case?

Current Situation:

The user opens the web interface, put's in his user name. Apache authenticates this agains MS LDAP(existing account and security group membership).

Access gets granted from Apache.

The aplication then needs the user name case sensitive(written to application config files). So the idea is to modify the apache environment varialbe "username" to lowercase, in order to put all user names in lower case in to the applications config files.

Do you have some info how this could be solved, any link with helping info?

Thanks,
Stefan
