404-Error when directory is accessed directly

Postby M24o » 26. July 2011 14:07

Hi everyone,
because I want to secure my phpmyadmin-page as secure as possible, I want to show everyone who accesses the directory directly (e.g yourname.tld/phpmyadmin) a 404-error, while everyone who accesses the index.php in this directory can use the page normally.
Is there a possibility to do that?
Thanks in advance,
M24o

yes, it is possible controled by '.htaccess' file or configuration in vhosts
http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/rewrite/
this is a geman page, but you'll find surely an english one http://www.hp-profi.info/htaccess.php
you can make a login, sent an 'not allowed' message or redirect to a page.
