Problem with filename in uppercase

Postby manansaxena » 29. November 2010 10:48

Hi,
I am running Apache webserver 2.2 on linux server.
There is a file hosted on the server at some location with name of ‘Data_value_for_abc_on_UATPROD.msg’ which gives a ‘page not found error’.
If I rename that same file and put everything in lowercase, i can download it just fine!
I have seen the same with other files too, whenever the name is fully in capitals, webserver gives a page not found error.
Can anyone tell me why this is happening and how to resolve it?

Thanks

Hi Nobbie,
Thanks for replying.
This is the URL i am specifying:
http://matrixWMSwiki.logistics.corp/fil ... ATPROD.msg
where Data_take_on_for_Site_on_UATPROD.msg is the name of the file.

How should i put it??

This is an intranet link so you won't be able to access it outside the domain. The file is stored at the location mentioned in the link by the same name as given in the link.
What should i give in capitals (you said in your earlier post to specify URL in caps) to access this file?

Wenn Data_take_on_for_Site_on_UATPROD.msg der physikalische Dateiname ist, dann sollte auch die URl so aussehen (Beispiel):

Code: Select all
http://www.domainname.com/directory/Data_take_on_for_Site_on_UATPROD.msg
