http://localhost does not show anything

http://localhost does not show anything

hi all,
-i downloaded some .pl file in /root.
-After running this command : /etc/init.d/httpd start, then i open my web browser wth the address http://localhost, it works ok! it shows Apache 2 Test Page powered by CentOS.
-now whn i type http://localhost/cgi-bin/myuserq.pl, and the page is not found and with error msg:
The required URL /cgi-bin/myuserq was not found on this server.
Apache/2.2.3 (CentOS) Server at localhost Port80

anyone can help me, please...i need ur help urgently...

Which is *not* part of your Xampp installation. The /root folder is unknown to your apache. Its neither the DocumentRoot, nor an Alias, nor the CGI folder.

Of course - you have to put ALL the Perl Scripts (as ALL CGI-Scripts) into the cgi-bin folder of your Xampp installation. Did you copy the files from /root to the cgi-bin folder of your Apache installation? Usually, the cgi-bin folder is under or beneath the htdocs-folder (for Xampp it is /opt/lampp/cgi-bin).
