.htaccess gets ignored :(

Postby BoBo_FMB » 02. March 2006 13:08

I've got my .htaccess file in the folder that I want protected

Code: Select all
AuthName "Restricted acess"
AuthType Basic
AuthUserFile "C:\XAMPP\.htpasswds1"
Require valid-user

and the file .htpasswds1 exists in the C:\XAMPP folder.

these are the modules:

Code: Select all
LoadModule actions_module modules/mod_actions.so

and also I''ve also done this

Code: Select all
#
# Each directory to which Apache has access can be configured with respect
# to which services and features are allowed and/or disabled in that
# directory (and its subdirectories).
#
# First, we configure the "default" to be a very restrictive set of
# features.
#
<Directory />
    Options FollowSymLinks
    AllowOverride All
    Order deny,allow
    Deny from all
</Directory>

and even after restarting the apache server via the XAMPP control panel, the protection on the folder gets ignored completely :(

Can anyone help me with this???

nevermind, found it :)

Code: Select all
#
    # AllowOverride controls what directives may be placed in .htaccess files.
    # It can be "All", "None", or any combination of the keywords:
    #   Options FileInfo AuthConfig Limit
    #
    AllowOverride All
