Xampp bleibt beim Laden hängen

Ich verwende das aktuelle XAMPP Paket.
Ich habe die 7-Zip-SFX Datei gezogen und in "E:/xampp" entpackt.
Anschließend habe ich die "setup_xampp.bat" ausgeführt.
Als ich anschließend versucht habe, den Server über die "xampp_start.exe" zu starten, öffnet sich ein Kommandozeilenfenster und folgende Sätze werden ausgeben:

Please Wait [Bitte Warten] ...
### APACHE + MYSQL IS STARTING NOW ###

Mehr tut sich aber nichts, Apache taucht weder als Anwendung im Taskmanager auf noch kann ich HTML Seiten über localhost ausgeben.

Beenden tue ich das Ganze dann einfach über die "xampp_stop.exe".

Im FAQ der Apachefriends stehen folgende Lösungsansätze, die bei mir aber allesamt keine Besserung gebracht haben:
- Firewall auschalten <-- ich verwende die XP Pro PFW aus dem letzten SP2 Beta Release
- SKYPE ausschalten <-- hab ich auch gemacht, blockiert angeblich Port80
- McAffee Virenscanner deaktivieren <-- hab AntiVir

Liegt es vielleicht daran, dass ich noch immer die Betaversion des SP2 installiert habe?
Ansonsten kann ich mir das echt nicht erklären, ich habe auch sonst nichts ander Konfiguration des Webservers geändert, alles steht auf Standard.
