MOD_PERL Alias /perl is not recognized

The installed XAMPP 1.4.3 with ModPerl 1.4.2 under Windows XP Home does not recognize the alias defined in /xampp/apache/conf/perf.conf:

Alias /perl "C:/xampp/htdocs/modperl/"
<Directory "C:/xampp/htdocs/modperl/">
SetHandler perl-script
PerlResponseHandler ModPerl::Registry
Options +ExecCGI
PerlOptions +ParseHeaders
</Directory>

Alias /asp "C:/xampp/htdocs/modperlasp/"
<Directory "C:/xampp/htdocs/modperlasp/">
SetHandler perl-script
PerlHandler Apache::ASP
PerlSetVar Global .
PerlSetVar StateDir "C:/xampp/tmp"
</Directory>

The definition has also to be included into /xampp/apache/conf/httpd.conf.

Now it works
