sending mail using XAMPP

hello .. m newbie to XAMPP .. but i have tried enough so far setting my SMTP to send email using PHP SCRIPT locally only..

i have XAMPP 1.7.4 and i want to use simple PHP script to send email ..


i went to PHP folder under C://XAMPP and went to PHP.INI but what kind of changes i have to do there ..

and there is another folder under C://XAMPP called SENDMAIL .. and there is a SENDMAIL.INI file there .. but i dont know what kind of changes i have to do there also . .

can any body tell .. where i have to do some changes .. i have an email .. but dont know where to do changes .
