Second question: I've installed XAMPP on my home computer so that I could install Joomla! and develop a website before I bought the hosting for it. I am having a few issues. First of all I am getting this message when I'm trying to access PHPMyAdmin:
Error:
MySQL said:
#1045 - Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (Using Password: NO)
Connection for controluser as defined in your configuration failed.
phpMyAdmin tried to connect to the MySQL server, and the server rejected the connection. You should check the host, username, and password in your configuration and make sure that they correspond to the information given by the administrator of the MySQL server.
I wouldn't have posted this, because I saw that there are many posts with this same type of error. The only problem is is that I tried every solution suggested, from running the reset file to checking the config.inc.php file and changing that, to going into the shell and typing -u mysql -p or whatever the command was.
I had a version of MySQL from http://www.mysql.com installed before this version, and I had set a username and password for that. I also uninstalled it before I downloaded Xampp. I do not remember what the username and password were that I had chosen, and I figured it would be uninstalled with the program. I am thinking about uninstalling Xampp completely, and re-installing from scratch, or perhaps getting the individual components and then installing those. I would prefer to get the install of Xampp that I have on my PC working though.
If anyone could help me, that would be great. I will probably be on and off of this forum all day checking for responses because I have to be online doing schoolwork anyways.
Thanks much!
