XAMPP not working

I am using XAMPP Windows 1.7.0
[Basic package] on windows XP

I type http://127.0.0.1 into the address bar and the XAMPP GUI appears But


1 I click on security and It does not allow me to set a password
2 when I click on (CD collection , Biorhythm, Instant art, Flash art, ADOdb or PHP post Script) the page is not showing properly. it has bits of source code displayed on the screen. How can this be resolved?

3 phpmyadmin will not display the screen it tells me (Cannot load mysql extension. Please check your PHP configuration. - Documentation) I have tryied to resolve this with the php_mysql.dll file but this did not work

how can all the above be resolved ???

I guess you have another "php.ini" on your system?
