Mysql Not starting

Hi friends,

I am using xampp in Linux from past 6 months. It was working fine till today. Suddenly the connection to Mysql is lost. After that many times I tried to reinstall xamll-linux but no result. I am in a very urgetn need of it. All my applciaions are run using lampp. I tried with newer version of 1.5.1 also. Previously I was using 1.5.0 so i reinstalled the same thing again and again.

I am using the Debian system. The xampp is insatlled successfully but Mysql database is deactivated in Xampp Status.

When I tiend to access Mysql I got the following error:

ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/opt/lampp/var/mysql/mysql.sock' (111)


Can any one help me.

Any help will be treasured.
