Hello,
I made an entire website on my localhost and now, after restarting my MacBook to upload the website, the apache web server says 'stopped' and I can't get it to work.
So I can't reach my localhost nor phpmyadmin
To be clear: Mysql en ProFTPD are running, only Apache isn't.
Comment in 'server events' is:
Starting all servers...
Starting MySQL Database...
/Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/mysql/scripts/ctl.sh : mysql started at port 3306
Starting Apache Web Server...
Exit code: 8
Stdout:
apache config test fails, aborting
Stderr:
AH00526: Syntax error on line 173 of /Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/etc/httpd.conf:
User takes one argument, Effective user id for this server
Starting ProFTPD...
Checking syntax of configuration file
/Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/proftpd/scripts/ctl.sh : proftpd started
Starting Apache Web Server...
Exit code: 8
Stdout:
apache config test fails, aborting
Stderr:
AH00526: Syntax error on line 173 of /Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/etc/httpd.conf:
User takes one argument, Effective user id for this server
Starting Apache Web Server...
Exit code: 8
Stdout:
apache config test fails, aborting
Stderr:
And line 173 is:
User YOUR_MACBOOK_USER_NAME // apple
as shown underneath:
<IfModule unixd_module>
#
# If you wish httpd to run as a different user or group, you must run
# httpd as root initially and it will switch.
#
# User/Group: The name (or #number) of the user/group to run httpd as.
# It is usually good practice to create a dedicated user and group for
# running httpd, as with most system services.
#
User YOUR_MACBOOK_USER_NAME // apple
Group GROUP_NAME // admin
</IfModule>
Getting desperate...
Howto get it to work, or reset users, or to reinstall without data loss?
