XAMPP 8.1.6 MySQL Yellow

I am in a database class for my program in University, and we are using XAMPP and DB Browser. I recently downloaded XAMPP for Mac OS Monterey, and I had no problem with starting the server, and Apache, MySQL, and ProFTPD were all green. Until recently, MySQL started turning yellow and then turn red after a bit, and it wouldn't allow me to access the PHP MyAdmin on the browser. I check the log in XAMPP and it gives me this error message: ERROR: Failed to start "mysql": cannot start service: /opt/lampp/bin/mysql.server: 263: kill: No such process

I am not sure what to do, I tried deleting and reinstalling, but its still doing the same thing.

Are you using the XAMPP VM installer, not the XAMPP native installer?

Are you running on an Apple Silicon (M1 or M2, arm64 architecture) CPU?

Did you install a new version of XAMPP between the time when you could start the Apachy, MySQL, and ProFTPD services, and when that stopped working? Did you otherwise change your system?

I seem to have the same issue. Just installed XAMPP 8.1.6-0, nativie Mac OS.
The Apache web server starts just fine, the MySql server tries to start up, then quits.

I am using a MAC mini intel running macOS Monterey 12.6.1

Hello, I'm also facing the same problem,

I'm using XAMPP VM installer

I'm running on MacOS intel cpu

I didn't install new version of XAMPP between the time all services can start, it stopped working yesterday around 2-3pm, I try to fix the problem by changing several files like my.cnf, php.ini, but nothing work.

I receive this error, everytime i try to run it from xampp panel:
ERROR: Failed to start "mysql": cannot start service: /opt/lampp/bin/mysql.server: 263: kill: No such process

1- open XAMPP
2- clic on MySqlDatabase
3-configure
4-change port the last digit of the port and try to reconnect till you get the green button for example I had 3306 and I changed to 3308 and the connection was successful

changing the default port in most cases is not a solution, more like a workaround.

If MariaDB is not able to start on the default port, the default port is already used. Most likely there is already another MySQL or MariaDB Daemon running. The question is, do you really need a second one then?

and then start the sql process in xampp

I simply rolled back to the previous version of the program, which worked stably for me.
