I am trying to install the xdebug but none of the tutorials are working for me.
the installation wizard says:
Download xdebug-3.1.4.tgz
Install the pre-requisites for compiling PHP extensions.
On your Ubuntu system, install them with: apt-get install php-dev autoconf automake
Unpack the downloaded file with tar -xvzf xdebug-3.1.4.tgz
Run: cd xdebug-3.1.4
Run: phpize (See the FAQ if you don't have phpize).
As part of its output it should show:
Configuring for:
...
Zend Module Api No: 20210902
Zend Extension Api No: 420210902
If it does not, you are using the wrong phpize. Please follow this FAQ entry and skip the next step.
Run: ./configure
Run: make
Run: cp modules/xdebug.so /opt/lampp/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20210902
Update /opt/lampp/etc/php.ini and add the line:
zend_extension = xdebug
but I am already failing at step 2:
since I don't know which command I have to make in my macOS terminal.Install the pre-requisites for compiling PHP extensions
also I tried to move the downloaded package manually to the php/ext folder, but within the php folder I can see only one sub-folder "man" and I dont seem to have any permissions here (I can not paste anything oder create a folder etc etc)
I have also tried a pcl - approach
(like here: https://xdebug.org/docs/install#pecl) but this didn't work either, command is not known by my terminal.
I also have difficulties to navigate via terminal into the lampp folder (and sub-folders).
I navigated to opt but then got stuck there.
since (as you have seen) this is all new to me, I would be very greatful if anyone could help me out.
german is fine as well.
thank you in advance.
