Two Versions of PHP

I am run php 7.4 currently but have need to run php 8 for a new site on my local dev server. The older sites that use 7.4 do not run properly under php 8 and I have been trying to figure out a way to run php 8 for specific virtual hosts. Most of what I find when i use the google machine refers to setting this up on a windows machine. The limited options I see that reference macOS steer me away from XAMPP and I’d rather not use something else.

If anyone can point me in the proper direction I would appreciate it.
