When I try to configure and run FTP with the ProFTPd server, following the recommended instructions (http://localhost/dashboard/docs/transfer-files-ftp.html), and then try to login with my Mac credentials, I get the error message, "Critical error: Could not connect to server".
I looked at the /Applications/XAMPP/etc/proftpd.conf file and I see the settings,
# daemon gets the password "xampp"
UserPassword daemon 2TgxE8g184G9c
I can only login with username daemon and password xampp.
When I try to run the security script from the FAQ to try to change the daemon password, the proftpd.conf file gets blanked out (file with 0 bytes) and the logins still don't work. This should not happen. Please fix it.
