cannot calculate MAC address

Hi,

I have never had an issue with running xampp on windows before however i have recently switched over to a mac.

I have installed xampp version 8 and when i try to start it I get the following error: Error starting xampp stack. cannot calculate MAC address: hv_vm_create unknown error -85377023

Any ideas on how to fix this?

That message usually appears if unsupported CPUs are running, the VM does only support Intel CPU. For example M1 is not supported by the VM.

I just had this same issue. Just purchased an Apple MacBook Pro, Big Sur, 11.2.3. Does this mean I cannot currently install Xampp on my MacBook? Please advise and thank you to all who help with this--newbies truly do appreciate your time!
