Communications link failure?!?!

Postby Jurrederuiter » 23. March 2020 15:37

Hi. I have been trying to connect to a MySQL database using XAMPP for the past days, and I keep getting this error. It's really driving me nuts, I've tried a dozen of solutions but nothing's worked.
This is the exact error I am getting:

com.mysql.jdbc.exceptions.jdbc4.CommunicationsException: Communications link failure
The last packet sent successfully to the server was 0 milliseconds ago. The driver has not received any packets from the server.

Does anyone know how to fix this??

Hi change permission on folder Applications\XAMPP\xamppfiles\htdocs\

Cmd+click on the \Applications\XAMPP\xamppfiles\htdocs\ folder and select 'Get Info'.
If the lock symbol at the bottom indicates that this information is locked, click the lock icon to unlock, and enter your user credentials.
Once the settings are unlocked, choose "everyone" under "Sharing & Permissions" and change the option to "Read & Write".

permission for mysql command terminal :

chmod -R 777 /Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/var

Refresh phpmyadmin
