The VM versions are bigger than the normal versions because they need to emulate a full operating system.
If you are not fimilar about VMs and how to work with them then the normal versions are the correct for you

You mean 306MB is LAMP VM --- ? in what hypervisor this run ?

so the normal are if using MacOS --- and Not Virtual Machine (VM) the 145MB ... correct?

Also If needed UPGRADE current XAMPP in my MacOS i have to UNINSTALL (How this...? MacOS 10.14.4) and REINSTALL 145MB XAMPP (the newest)... correct?
