Mac file permissions

Postby Dazzathedrummer » 17. December 2018 09:40

Hi,

I’m trying to get Wordpress running locally but when I click for updates I get prompted for ftp details.

After some searching I’ve read that this a to do with file permissions in my lampp directory.

I’ve followed the instructions that I’ve found and changed the user and group to ‘[me]’ and ‘staff’ (confirming that I’m using the correct username by checking ‘id’). After restarting Apache, Wordpress is still giving me the ftp prompt for updates and theme uploads (despite that I’ve dropped a new theme in manually).

What am I doing wrong here?
