Timezones are completely broken and I have no idea why

Postby Semon » 26. November 2018 11:47

Hello
Im currently running the VM version of xAMPP on MacOS 10.14.1 and I'm having a lot of trouble with timezones.

I have managed to set the timezone for PHP and SQL to "Pacific/Auckland", and for a few days it was working fine. However, I went to use them today and found that they were out by 4 hours and 40 minutes. It would kind if be fine if they were out by like, an hour. But the 40 minutes extra is really confusing me. Plus, Why did they even change in the first place since they are both set to "Pacific/Auckland" and are both saying that the time zone is +13:00 (which is correct for New Zealand at this time of year)

Currently it is 11:45 pm, and if i write,
Code: Select all
echo date("'Y/m/d h:i:s a");
it returns,
Code: Select all

Im completely lost. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I was so happy when time zones finally worked the first time. But apparently I was wrong.
Thanks in advanced.

Sounds like the VM is not matching time with the host.

I think I found out the issue. If i put my mac to sleep, it pauses the VM's time. So when I wake up the Mac, the mac time is correct, but the VM time is then resumed rather than updated. Ill try to file a bug report of this issue.

Thanks for reporting it. It seems the issue is related to the time mismatch between the host & the VM. We will look into it.
