phpMyAdmin -- Error

Postby lukner » 02. June 2018 07:24

I'm completely new to this ... I'm not really sure how to start the MySQL server. I tried going through the How To Guides, but nothing works at all.

Welcome to phpMyAdmin

phpMyAdmin tried to connect to the MySQL server, and the server rejected the connection. You should check the host, username and password in your configuration and make sure that they correspond to the information given by the administrator of the MySQL server.

I have exactly the same problem. Have you managed to find the solution?

This question and your other posting leads me to the idea, that you already might have another MySQL Server running. That might result exactly in the same problems.

Thanks Nobbie. I have been able to solve the problem.
I followed these steps:
1 - Complete these instructions: https://community.jaspersoft.com/wiki/uninstall-mysql-mac-os-x
2 - Uninstall XAMPP
3 - Install XAMPP again.

I tried running the MySQL Database after step 1. Nevertheless, I was still running into the same problem. I tried several things that people suggested in other forums (changing files to "read only"; changing ports and adding lines to my.cnf file...) without success. So I went through with steps 2 and 3. Now all three servers are working.
