Apache not starting and no info in error log

Postby hubbobubbo » 24. April 2018 12:57

Hi

I have been using XAMPP for a couple of days on my mac with no issues at all. Today however it can not be started. In the Manager when clicking Start it prints this to the Application Log:
---------------
Starting Apache Web Server...
/Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/apache2/scripts/ctl.sh : httpd started
-------------
But the button just goes back to being red. There is nothing printed to neither of the log files.

Going to localhost shows me a "It works" message but not the usual XAMPP webpage located in htdocs

I have tried to:
- Reinstall XAMPP several times, both the latest and second latest versions.
- Manually kill the httpd processes in Activity Monitor
- Restart the computer
- Change ports to not use 80.
- Change log level to debug (still nothing is printed to the log)
etc

However nothing is working, the only life sign is the print in the application log and then the button goes back to being red.

It is so weird since it was ok after the first installation and there I can not see any reason why something would have changed. It is like it breaks on startup before even being initialized since nothing shows in the logfile.
