can't access tables after XAMPP reinstallation

Postby krompiro » 06. February 2018 12:20

I've recently reinstalled xampp with the most recent version 7.2.1. Unfortunately that made my tables in databases unaccessible.

use mydb;
show tables;
it gives me the 2 tables present in the db: preset and mytable
select * from mytable;

The last line gives me an error:
Table 'mydb.mytable' doesn't exist in engine

i've inspected the .err file in /Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/var/mysql/My-MBP.err

It contains an error:

2018-02-06 11:27:08 123145551613952 [Warning] InnoDB: Cannot open table vcdb/preset from the internal data dictionary of InnoDB though the .frm file for the table exists. See http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.6/en/innodb-troubleshooting.html for how you can resolve the problem.

I am pretty sure this error has to do with reinstalling xampp, because after I first noticed the problem, I created a new table, which I could use it normally, and than repeated the xampp reinstallation. After that, the newly created table was unaccessible and was mysql was throwing the same error as before. What should I do?
