MySQL not running

I had MySQL running along with MySQL WorkBench. Unable to run MySQL that came with XAMPP app unless I turn the other instance of MySQL off. My schema and databases for another project are in the original server. Should I just migrate the databases to the XAMPP my SQL. Also, I am unable to add other XAMPP/Bitnami apps because of this. Do I need to uninstall the first instance of MySQL? Or should turning it off and letting the MySQL version that came with XAMPP run take care of this issue.
