configure camp to send email

Postby rich8899 » 02. December 2016 17:51

Hello, I use Xampp 1.7.3 for Mac. I have the hell of a hard time time to make php mail() to sent email from my local host. I did some google, it seems like it has something to do with php.ini so I modified min to this:

; For Unix only. You may supply arguments as well (default: "sendmail -t -i").
;sendmail_path =
SMTP=smtp.gmail.com
smtp_port=25
sendmail_path = "env -i /usr/sbin/sendmail -t -i"

But it still doesn't send email. Are there any other config files I need to modify?
If possible, I prefer not to be confused with other email modules or services, I want this to be done completely within the Xampp environment.

I know this can be done because I did it few years ago, but camp and MacOS has changed since then, so I need to do it again. Thank you for your help in advance.
