no phpmyadmin?!

Postby noxified » 11. November 2016 12:40

I just got my first mac, MAMP does not want to start the Mysql server, so I got xampp. How do I get to the phpmyadmin?
Tried localhost/xampp, nothing. also tried/index.html/php still nothing. How do I get to phpmyadmin? it says that sql service is running.

Running xampp 5.6.24 with os x 10.12

did you check just "http://localhost"? if you didnt change any config, apache and mysql is running, you find a link there to phpmyadmin (http://localhost/phpmyadmin/).
good luck.

btw: phpmyadmin is just a webinterface for MySQL. So you need to start apache and mysql server. If you just want to use mysql without a web interface (e.g. if a different server uses your DB or if you want to store data via command line) you don't need to start apache. But in your case: start both server!

yea, I did. there was a message "it works". that's it. indeed the apache server wasn't starting because, I'm developing in Laravel, and the thing it runs it's own apache server.
however, reinstalled mamp and now it works. thank you!
