localhost error invalid login

I'm experimenting with a roll back on locally installed joomla site. After downloading a copy of the live site and installing via akeeba to xampp, I'm getting that message when trying to install the downloaded older version. Can anyone tell me what the deal is? I'm pretty new to xampp but I'd rather risk blowing it up in that then the live site.
