UPDATE PHP

Hey I have OSX 10.11.5 and have installed XAMPP 5.5.24

It came with PHP Version 5.5.24, now i want to update only the PHP version nothing else. How that can be done?

Or if update XAMPP can solve this problem then great but would that not affect any other settings that i have done? I mean i have set a lot of virtual hosts which i dont want to loose, it took lot of time and paid to set them up in the first place.
