I have Same problem. Im looking all over and the web is chock full of misdirection and bad outdated information. Ive spent hours.

I found a thread in the XAMPP for Windows forum that said to find php.ini

locate the line with extension=php_mssql etc etc, delete the semi colon and restart apache.

Now my apache won't restart, propbably going to have to re-install. My edit should have been done in pico or such, going to try that next.

Here's related thread from Xampp Windows i was referencing.

https://community.apachefriends.org/f/viewtopic.php?p=175836

I tried two ways to edit php.ini and delete that semi colon. With a good text editor WYSIWYG it would not restart apache afterward. and in both cases it will not restart as I now reinstalled Xampp, used sudo nano and edited the file, same result. SO THAT ADVICE WILL HOSE APACH OS X EVERY TIME.

NOW WHAT ?

MSSQL support has been dropped in PHP since version PHP 5.3, due to missing Microsoft Support. If you need PHP MSSQL support anyway, you have to contact Microsoft. See https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/sqlser ... 57782.aspx and http://stackoverflow.com/questions/7402 ... th-php-5-3

There is probably no more support for OSX (i could not find any). Ask Microsoft if in doubt.
