Where do I go to change my security settings?

Postby adfoster4 » 11. May 2014 16:27

Good afternoon. I have installed XAMPP 1.8.3-4 on my computer. My operating system is MAC OSX 10.9.2. When I open XAMPP and click on the security link, it shows the following:
These XAMPP pages are accessible by network for everyone UNSECURE
The phpMyAdmin user pma has no password UNSECURE
The MySQL user root has no password UNSECURE
The FTP password for user daemon is still 'xampp' UNSECURE

Where do I need to go to make the necessary changes so that my status can read SECURE.

It tells you exactly where to go on the page you quote. I don't have it open, but I believe it is something like /Applications/xampp/security

Forget this. This is only important in open webserver environment. If you try to change passwords etc. via "security", you will screw up your installation. As everybody before.

if you still want to do it type:
(for OSX)

sudo /Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/xampp security
