Bringing in a database folder

I have been working remotely on a MySQL database. I went into the MySQL folder and copied the database folder into to the MySQL folder. When I loaded phpMyAdmin, the database was there, but not the tables. The table has 17 fields and almost 18,000 records. How do I recover the table?
