XAMPP not working properly upon instalation

Hey!

New to this field, currently self teaching myself PHP with routine trips to coffee shops/bars. I've download XAMPP to run commands and test what ive been learning. But, as with most things in my life, its broken upon installation! It boots fine, but when I turn SQL/Apache/FTP on i just get a error message.
Any tips? I've been searching for somewhere to practice and I thought XAMPP was gonna be it!
