Error 404 Message and uneditable index.php?? For Beginner

Postby kungfulemon » 20. August 2012 04:08

Hi!

I'm a Mac user running the lastest version of Lion, and when I went into htdocs to check out the index.php file, this message showed up:
<?php
if (!empty($_SERVER['HTTPS']) && ('on' == $_SERVER['HTTPS'])) {
$uri = 'https://';
} else {
$uri = 'http://';
}
$uri .= $_SERVER['HTTP_HOST'];
header('Location: '.$uri.'/xampp/');
exit;
?>
Something is wrong with your XAMPP installation :-(

I also tried running the program by going to "http://localhost/start" in my browser, and it says

Object not found!

The requested URL was not found on this server. If you entered the URL manually please check your spelling and try again.

If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster.

Error 404

localhost

Apache/2.2.14 (Unix) DAV/2 mod_ssl/2.2.14 OpenSSL/0.9.8l PHP/5.3.1 mod_perl/2.0.4 Perl/v5.10.1

Also, when I try editing the existing index.php file and saving it, I get a message saying I don't have permission to.

Help?????

Thanks so much,

Sam
