The issue I have appears to be a popular one amongst Mac OS X users; sorry in advance if this topic seems redundant. When trying to access localhost/phpmyadmin I receive the error message:
- Code: Select all
#1 - Can't create/write to file '/var/folders/HU/HUJYWJ8pFSu9C2pXbDSkhE+++TI/-Tmp-/#sql585_8_0.MYI' (Errcode: 13)
I've searched similar threads via Google and learned: the permissions in the /Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/etc/my.cnf file need to be set to 600 to bypass this issue. I've yet to come across a thread that explains in detail how to do this. How do I set the my.cnf file permissions to 600 and what are the implications of this action?
Sidenote: I use TextMate v1.5.10 (1623) as a text editor and Chrome v21.0.1180.75 as a web browser.
Thanks!
