Problems with the Mac OS X version of XAMPP, questions, comments, and anything related.

I have XAMPP installed on my MAC (Mac book pro, 10.5.8 ) and it was working like a charm until last night
I started getting this message when trying to start the MySql server from XAMPP
Another Mysql server is running!
I checked the activity Monitor and I see this task running mysqld (owner = _mysql).
I tried quitting or force quitting but the task comes right back.... seemingly something in the OS keeps starting this!
how do I turn that off?
the only thing different that I did lately was to repair permissions on my system... other than that I did not install anything or do anyhthing out of the ordinary
any ideas on how I can turn this off???

got it fixed
I had a script that started mysql automatically
it was never an issue before but for some reason when I fixed the permission it started acting up
so by simply shutting down from the terminal I was able to kill that task and be on my way
here's my command
sudo launchctl load -w /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.mysql.mysqld.plist
