Problems with the Mac OS X version of XAMPP, questions, comments, and anything related.

I just downloaded and installed XAMPP on a MAC (full disclosure, I have no Mac experience and only a little with XAMPP.) Everything seems to be installed but when i try to start Apache or MySQL from XAMPP control for the first time they ask for passwords. I tried root with no password and root/root with no success. What are these programs looking for?

Nevermind!
I just found out that it was the Mac asking for the administrator password to allow Apache and MySQL the ability to start.
Jeepers do I feel stupid.
